The rule that quietly triples your cost

Check the blackjack payout before you sit down. A natural blackjack should pay 3:2 — C$15 on a C$10 bet. Some tables pay 6:5, which is C$12 on the same bet. That single change adds roughly 1.4% to the house edge, taking a 0.5% game to nearly 2%.

The tables look identical and the rule is displayed but easy to miss. It is the most expensive detail in the game and it takes two seconds to check.

Blackjack sits in the 50% weighting band at all eight casinos, and the arithmetic is worth seeing rather than describing.

With a C$5 maximum bet while a bonus is active and a 60-day expiry, C$70,000 of turnover is 14,000 hands. A live table deals 40 to 60 hands an hour, so that is 230 to 350 hours in two months. It is not a realistic target.

Why blackjack is penalised

The practical constraint is the betting window. A dropped connection at the wrong moment can cost you a hand, so play live on a stable connection rather than a marginal one.

RNG blackjack

Software-dealt, instant, and entirely under your control. The rules and the edge are identical. What changes is volume: you can play several hundred hands an hour, which at 0.5% is still the fastest route through a bankroll available in blackjack.

Card counting

It does not work online. RNG blackjack reshuffles after every hand, so there is no count to keep.
